8th Annual Dimond Howl-o-ween Pet Parade & Costume Party
Friday, Oct. 28, 6 pm-9 pm

Join us for our 8th Annual Dimond Howl-o-ween Pet Parade & Costume Party. The parade will start in front of Paws & Claws at 6 pm sharp. Kids and dogs a like will parade through the Dimond District collecting treats from our local merchants. Return to Paws & Claws for a great fundraiser party that includes food, drinks & Raffle prizes. Dress warmly this event will be outdoors.

This year we’re excited to announce Jackie from Kelly’s Corner, our local children’s consignment shop, will be providing face painting and fun games. And back by popular demand, Amy Jo Evje will be painting super cute “5 Minute” Pet Portraits for $10.

A $5 Donation Benefits ODOG, an all volunteer group who advocate for more dog parks and off-leash space in the East Bay. Bring extra cash for raffle tickets with great prizes from our vendors.

We would like to invite everyone to come and helps us celebrate our “Best Pet Food Store-2011” win. Enjoy treats & drinks for humans and their well socialized four legged companions.

Learn about “Off Doggie” a training tool designed by Lori Falkell, of Pawderosa Pet Care. Lori will be demonstrating how to use this tool to prevent unwanted jumping.

Amy Jo Karn, a local artist, (and creator of our mural, “Dogs & Cats of the World”) will be on hand to do 5 minute pet portraits for $10.00. These drawings have been a big hit at past events. Check out Amy Jo’s website.

Jackie from “Kelly’s Corner” will be present to help us create a kid friendly space.

Paws & Claws carries litters that are clay-free, chemical-free, fragrance-free and biodegradable. They’re good for your cat, you and the environment. Other litters that contain chemicals, such as silica dust, are released into the air every time your cat scratches in his litter box. Cats breathe the dust. The particles lodge in your cat’s lungs jeopardizing the animal’s immune system. Some of the clumping clay litters, containing sodium bentonite, even state on the bag, “Do not let cat ingest litter.” Cats are natural groomers inadvertently swallowing these litter granules periodically. Sodium bentonite clumps by expanding and forming a hard mass. Imagine the havoc these types of litters wreak inside your cat’s digestive system. For these reasons, we strongly recommend our litters, free of toxins that could endanger the health and life of your cat.

We sell four safe, eco-friendly litters at Paws & Claws. Cat Country Organic Wheatgrass Litter and Feline Pine Litter come in a pellet form which absorbs urine and odor. The wheat grass and pine naturally bond ammonia. If you like clumping scoopable litters, we suggest you try World’s Best Cat Litter, made from whole kernel corn or Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Litter, made from naturally processed wheat.
