Organic Foods

What are organic foods?
Newman’s Own Organic Premium Pet Food web site states, “Organic foods are produced without the use of herbicides, pesticides or artificial fertilizers, are not irradiated and do not contain chemical additives or preservatives. The growing of organic food is based on a system of feeding and farming that mimics natural ecosystems and maintains and replenishes nutrients in the soil.”

Why is organic important?
It only makes sense that organic food is a healthier alternative for our beloved pets, making our cats and dogs less susceptible to disease and weight problems. We want our furry friends to stay with us as long as possible and feeding them correctly is an integral part of their daily health.

At Paws & Claws, we offer several varieties of organic pet foods.

Raw Frozen Foods

Paws & Claws carries two brands of raw food, Nature’s Variety and Primal Frozen Pet Foods. Raw uncooked foods are one of the best sources of nutrition for your pet. Uncooked meaty bones, fresh fruits and vegetables provide live enzymes, unprocessed amino acids, vitamins, and minerals not available in heat-processed foods. Frozen raw formulas are developed based upon the B.A.R.F diet (Bones and Raw Foods or Biologically Appropriate Raw Foods). These diets closely mimic the diet of animals in the wild.

Pet owners have reported the benefits of better skin and coats, better weight control, fewer allergy symptoms, less backyard clean-up and better overall health due to their pets eating wholesome and balanced diets.
